2023 Judges Forum Academic Papers

As part of the Institute’s 31st annual Forum for State Appellate Court Judges, Expert Testimony: Judges, Science, and Trial by Jury,” two law professor members of our faculty authored original academic research papers exploring in depth the Forum topic. These papers, and the authors’ presentations of them, serve as the centerpiece for the Forum discussions.

Expert Evidence: Evolution of Rules and Practices by Prof. Michael Saks, Arizona State University, Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law
Judicial Gatekeeping, Expert Testimony, and the Future of American Courts by Prof. Anne Bloom, UC Berkeley School of Law
